Health Connector for Business is a new platform for small businesses to find health insurance, offering potential cost-savings, the option for employees to pick their own plan, and new nationwide coverage through PPO plans.

Health Connector for Business and the Massachusetts Staffing Association is holding an informational seminar on Monday, Oct. 22, just in time for staffing businesses to take advantage of an enrollment period with no minimum contribution and participation requirements.

Through Health Connector for Business, employers can consider more than 50 health plans from eight carriers for coverage starting Jan. 1, 2019, including PPO plans with out-of-state networks for employees who don’t live in Massachusetts, and can also find dental coverage. Employers can compare premiums and find plans with lower premiums, and also benefit from a 15 percent rebate through a wellness program. The platform also uniquely offers employees the opportunity to select the plan that best meets their needs, without impacting their employer’s bottom line.

Now is the time for staffing companies to consider offering coverage starting Jan. 1, with participation and contribution requirements waived Nov. 1-Dec. 15. The normal employer participation requirement is 75 percent. The normal minimum employer contribution requirement is 50 percent for individual coverage and 33 percent for family coverage.
